Helpful Job Postings Sites

1.  General Job Postings Sites

  • UBC CareersOnline: UBC Centre for Student Involvement and Careers' password-protected job posting system. All current UBC students and alumni have free access to this site. Has good descriptions of on campus work opportunities, including positions partially subsidized through the campus Work Learn programs. Log in using your CWL.
  • Indeed: Searches job postings that are listed on online job boards, newspaper sites and other niche sites. Means that search results will include postings from major job sites like working.com, workopolis.com, etc.
  • Eluta.ca: Searches company Web sites’ career opportunities pages.
  • Craigslist: Typically (but not always) more short-term and contract opportunities.
  • Talent Egg:  Job board and online career resource for students and recent graduates.
  • Job Bank: Central job posting site for all of Canada, run by the federal government. You can do specialized searches with this, including seasonal, temporary and student/youth jobs.
  • Charity Village: Canadian job board and resources for those interested in working for non-profit organizations.

2. Technology-Specific Job Postings SItes

  • T-Net: is the BCTIA (BC Technology Industry Association) job postings site.
  • Dice: is a “careers hub” for tech-related jobs. More American than Canadian listings.
  • TechVibes: more job postings from start-up & digital media  companies here
