Job Search Basics Workshop
Intended audience: Non-coop students (and co-op students after they’ve completed all of their work terms).
Offered: At least 1X/year.
Learn effective job search strategies – how to make most effective use of posted positions, and how to find (or develop) non-advertised work opportunities for yourself.
Interview Skills Practice Session
Intended audience: Non-coop undergraduates – and coop students who’ve completed all co-op terms and want to brush up their skills.
Offered: At least 1X/term.
Practice and get immediate feedback on your answers to common job interview questions. Interactive, small group sessions.
Interview Skills Workshop
Intended audience: Non-coop undergraduates.
Offered: At least 1X/term.

Resume Writing Workshop
Intended audience: Non-coop undergraduates.
Offered: At least 1X/term.
Find out how to write professional-looking resumes that get you job interviews! Learn about how to customize your resume content to specific job posting requirements, and how to effectively format this.
Technical Interview Skills Practice Session
Intended audience: First priority to 4th year students; 3rd year students if there are still addtional spots available.
Offered: 2X per year, once per term.
In small groups, practice your responses to technical interview questions, and get immediate feedback from an employer. Learn what key ideas and approaches employers are looking for in your responses.
Resume and cover letter drop-in editing sessions
Resume/Cover Letter Drop-In Editing Sessions
Intended audience: Non-coop undergraduates – and coop students who’ve completed all co-op terms and want to brush up their skills.
Offered: Typically bi-weekly throughout the winter term.
Already have a resume or cover letter prepared, and want some feedback on it? 20 min. feedback sessions about resumes or cover letters available.
Individual job search consultations (as needed) for undergraduate students and new graduates
Individual Job/Career Advising Appointments (1 hour appointments)
Intended audience: Non-coop students (and co-op students after they’ve completed all of their work terms). First priority for appointment times given to 4th year students in their final term of studies. Appointments are with Diane Johnson, the Computer Science department’s Career Planning and Placement Coordinator. She can help you develop an effective job search plan, brainstorm job target alternatives and pinpoint your potential areas for improvement if your job search isn’t going well.
