We are looking for a Manager, Systems Support to join our Vancouver-based Information Systems team. What You Will Do

In this role you will provide the leadership for the team responsible for supporting and managing a variety of business application systems as well as systems hardware infrastructure. The role involves complex issue resolution, time sensitive outputs, collaborating with key stakeholders and communicating with senior roles across the organization. Proactive identification of process improvement opportunities, project execution and people management are core requirements of this role.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Effectively manage a team of systems support analyst professionals
  • Prioritize and manage scheduled processes, ad hoc requests, and projects in collaboration with multiple business partners
  • Proactively analyze current process and procedures and redesign workflows to increase efficiency, mitigate risk, and increase the level of service provided to stakeholders
  • Provide the team with a deep understanding of systems support best practice
  • Lead and develop team members in proficiencies required for them to succeed in their roles
  • Plan, prioritize and co-ordinate internal resources to ensure that systems run smoothly and efficiently
  • Interview, onboard and train new staff as required
  • Ability to solve complex technical issues as they arise
  • Perform installation, configuration and ongoing usability improvements to servers and applications
  • Proactively monitor and measure systems and servers with appropriate action taken for issues or concerns
  • Maintain a culture of ensuring  systems are always up, always available  and perform optimally
  • Work with team members to resolve technical problems for applications
  • Liaise with third party vendor support staff as necessary to facilitate the resolution of operational issues as required
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base and other documentation, policies and procedures
  • Review technical and business operational requests and implement remedial actions plus on-going enhancements to meet user needs and business process requirements
  • Assist with server and systems maintenance and upgrades
  • Investigate and recommend new technologies
  • Be hands-on
  • Have knowledge and experience in Microsoft technologies, including .NET architecture framework, MS SQL, MVC, C#, and SSRS, as well as ITIL 4

What You Bring

  • Experience: You have a minimum of 4+ years’ experience working in a similar leadership role.
  • Knowledge: You have an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar. Experience working in an institutional investment firm is an asset.  ITIL 4 certification is required.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills including planning and managing
  • Tech Savvy: You are familiar with programming languages. You are proficient using .NET and MS SQL (an asset). You have a passion about technology.
  • Analytic & Strategic: You possess an analytical mind, enjoy solving problems, and have an ability to perform deep thoughtful analysis to discover solutions.
  • Operational Excellence: You have an approach and track record in achieving operational excellence where personal drive, high quality work, and getting things done are critical success factors.
  • Collaborative Communication: You have a collaborative spirit that helps you work well with others and communicate effectively.

The salary range for this position is $115,00 - $135,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
