UBC Computer Science Professor Laks V.S. Lakshmanan Named 2016 ACM Distinguished Scientist

UBC Computer Science Professor Laks V.S. Lakshmanan is named as one of 32 ACM Distinguished Scientists by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in recognition of his contributions to the advances in research in Data Management, Analysis and Mining.  According to ACM President Vicki Hanson, “The contributions of our Distinguished Members lead to breakthroughs that improve our lives, advance the frontiers of scientific discovery, and boost economic development." The scientists are chosen from universities, corporations and research institutions from around the world. Professor Lakshmanan is one of two Canadian researchers receiving this honour.
