UBC Faculty of Science Excellence in Service Award

Computer Science Undergraduate Student Services Coordinator Giuliana Villegas has been awarded the 2015 Faculty of Science Excellence in Service Award for her ongoing leadership, innovation and support of the Computer Science Undergraduate program. This award recognizes staff, students, and faculty whose service contributions have had a significant impact in achieving UBC Science’s mission.

Giuliana exhibits exemplary levels of all components of this award; most particularly administration, leadership and outreach. Giuliana tirelessly works to provide the best student experience for each of our 1840 undergraduate students, all whilst maintaining a positive attitude. 

Our curriculum, administrative systems, and teaching methods have all evolved as a result of the rapid growth in the department's undergraduate program. Giuliana is the constant within this change; dedicating her time to understanding change as well as advocating for the needs of the department and its students.
