Student Volunteerism
From orientation to graduation and beyond, students are part of many academic and social cohorts. The Computer Science Department is a community of students, faculty and staff working together. Through department, community and outreach programs, participating students develop perspective, competences, and a sense of belonging. They have the capacity to build significant relationships and to celebrate and learn from the differences that enrich our world.
Volunteer Awards
The hard work of our volunteers does not go unnoticed. Every year, we hold a volunteer appreciation event to thank our volunteers for the time and effort they have invested in various activities to make our department and our community better.
Community involvement is an important consideration for many of our departmental awards. Some of these awards are open to student applications while others are awarded based on the department's recommendation. Here is a list of awards that has community involvement as one of the adjudication criteria:
