Tiltle: Security and Authentication Trends: The End of Passwords

Abstract: 

In this lecture, Bahram Piri CTO and Geoff Fawkes CEO, Vancosys Data Security, will discuss different security and authentication standards will be discussed, specifically, proximity based authentication including Bluetooth technology, encryption schemes and the future of authentication in the industry.   The Vancosys solution will be demonstrated - a highly secure, continuous authentication solution, to reduce fraud for banks and financial institutions, using any wireless companion device an employee carries around, including smartphones, keyfobs and smartwatches.

Bahram Piri Biography:   Bahram Piri is CTO and founder of Vancosys Data

Security Inc. Bahram is a technology executive with an electrical engineering and business operational management background spanning the past 20+ years. His technology background includes founding and selling two prior security and authentication companies, Firmlogic data, where he was CTO, and Rahavard Security where he was CTO. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Hardware Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. At Vancosys, Bahram

Geoff Fawkes Biography:  Geoff Fawkes is CEO and co-founder of Vancosys Data Security Inc. Geoff is a technology executive with a background in software development and business operational management spanning the past 20+ years.

His technology background includes Director, Engineering at Teradata leading the Toronto and Beijing engineering teams.

He was also at HSBC Bank in Vancouver as Director, Business Systems engineering for global mobile/personal internet banking systems. He holds an MBA degree from Simon Fraser University and a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. At Vancosys, Geoff is responsible for the business functions in the company including business planning, sales/reseller partnerships, equity investor fundraising, accounting systems and human resources.
