Alumni/Industry Lecture: Mark Schmidt - Machine Learning: Who, What, When, Where and Why

Wednesday, February 17, 2016 | 6:30pm - 8:30pm

What is machine learning? Why is it important?

If you’ve ever wondered about these questions, you have two options: ask Siri, or join Professor Mark Schmidt and UBC Science to learn about machine learning, how it affects you, why it matters to industry, and what researchers at UBC are learning about it.

Date: Wed., Feb 17

Time: Doors open at 6 PM, and the talk will begin at 6:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served.

Location: C300 Theatre, UBC Robson Square - 800 Robson St. Vancouver, BC
