CS Professor Kevin Leyton-Brown and his team win INFORMS Franz Edelman Achievement Award

UBC Computer Science Professor Kevin Leyton-Brown, together with Ph.D students Neil Newman and Alexandre Frechette, were members of a 19-person team that won the INFORMS Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and Management Sciences. Described as "the leading O.R. and analytics award in the industry" the award recognizes a "completed, practical application that had significant, verifiable and quantifiable impact on the performance of [a] client organization," in this case the US Federal Communications Commission.
