CPSC 303: Numerical Approximation and Discretization

2016/2017 Winter Term 2 (January-April 2017)

Grading: The plan is to have roughly 8-9 written homework assignments, 1 midterm exam, and 1 final exam.

Clicker bonus: Students who register their clicker/REEF and correctly answer at least 70% of the in class clicker questions during the term will receive an extra 1% on their grade. Clicker bonus questions start on Friday, January 20, 12pm.

Midterm exam: The midterm exam date is on Wednesday, February 15, 12:00-12:50pm, in FRDM 153. Please bring your student ID and be in class on time. You are allowed one side of a letter-sized (216mm × 279mm) sheet with handwritten notes. No other material or accessories are allowed. The midterm exam will cover material from numerical algorithms and errors, polynomial interpolation, and piecewise polynomial interpolation.

Final exam: The final exam date is on Wednesday, April 26, 8:30-11:00am, in DMP 310. Please bring your student ID and be in class on time. You are allowed one letter-sized (216mm × 279mm) sheet (both sides) with handwritten notes. No other material or accessories are allowed. The final exam will cover material from the entire course.
