To subscribe to the bioinformatics reading group email list, send an e-mail to majordomo@cs.ubc.ca with the text 'subscribe bioinf-rg'. You should shortly receive a confirmation email with further instructions. The address of the list is bioinf-rg@cs.ubc.ca.

If the week's presentation is on a recent paper, the title and abstract of that paper that will be sent out to the email list on the Friday before the presentation. The website is generally updated less promptly, so it is important to subscribe to list if you wish to attend regularly.
