Abstract Given the focus placed on the ENCODE project in our recent reading group and lab meetings, I'd like to discuss some of the reactions to the ENCODE project from both the public media and both supporters and detractors of the work. To help the discussion, I'll be focusing on this short essay from Sean Eddy: The ENCODE project: Missteps overshadowing a success The paper also discusses on the two following papers which may also be read for more background.
