News
I have moved to Zurich where I am now an Assistant Professor in the Software Evolution and Architecture Lab at the University of Zurich since November 2011. Find my new web site here (http://seal.ifi.uzh.ch/fritz/).
Personal
I was born in Munich as the third child (I have two brothers) and since then lived for about 22 years in Putzbrunn (a small town in the south east of Munich) and temporarily in Munich.
Traveling
As I stated before, I like traveling to and living in different cities. I decided to go to Vancouver in 2002 and stayed there for a year as a visiting student at the University of British Columbia (2002/2003). A year after I got back from Vancouver, I went to Nantes (Northwest of France) to live there for about 9 months. In 2005 I went back to Vancouver to start my PhD. During my PhD I spent about 6 months in Zurich and 4 months in Ottawa. It has always been and still is a lot of fun to go to different cities thanks to a lot of people I have met in those periods, who have supported and often well-feeded me and who have become good friends and of course to my family.
Hiking
I enjoy hiking a lot, be it day-hikes with my parents, ski trips over the weekend, or multiple day trips with a tent and a sleeping bag. I just love lunch breaks on the top of a mountain or the feeling once you get into your warm sleeping bag after a long day of walking in the snow.
