Guidelines for a CWSEI Funding Proposal for Course Modifications

In talking with Paul he suggested that any proposal address the following questions based on what one wants to achieve. The proposal should be in the 1 to 2 page range.

  • What do we want to do with the help and what sort of changes do we want to make.

  • Data that indicates/justifies the changes (Example attitudinal surveys, poor performance on certain questions, activities that they can't do or have trouble with.)

  • Sort of a repeat of the first point, but what sort of instructional changes do we propose to make.

  • How will we demonstrate that these changes have improved the learning of our students. (Attitudinal surveys, content specific exam questions.)

  • Will we require any STLF help and if so what for.

  • What sort of deliverables will we produce (e.g. topic level learning outcomes, fine grained learning outcomes, test questions, clicker questions, assignments, in class activities, videos etc.)

  • Budget - what sort of help, example TA hours
