LCI Chess Tournament

About

Why an LCI chess tourney?

  • To meet people--even the ones in your lab you've been ignoring
  • Show off your chess skills
  • Because we can

I (Guillaume) bought a chess clock this summer and it's in my office (CICSR 191) with my chess set. I'd be happy to lend it to fellow chess enthousiasts who want to use it, but I just don't want to lose track of the clock, to have it borrowed by some anonymous player who then forgets where to put it back. These things are a total rip off, considering that you can get toy watches in cereal boxes whose mechanism/computer are rougly equivalent.

  • Thanks, Guillaume. Don't worry about the clock: I think we'll try it without time. -- LucasRizoli - 15 Sep 2008

Also, if we're a small number of players, we can basically play everybody else and record the results in a square matrix. The winner is the person with the most points, or something like that.

  • Sounds like a good suggestion to me -- LucasRizoli - 15 Sep 2008
