---+++ CSSEI assistance with active learning activities

CSSEI can help with designing active learning activities. Active learning can take many forms:
   * concept questions at regular intervals during lecture (with or without clicker technology)
   * short pencil & paper exercises
   * lecture-labs / exercises using laptops
   * discovery activities 
   * debates

The incorporation of just one or two short, focussed activities in each lecture can go a long way to helping students engage with the material.  Faculty have also reported how much they have learned from watching students work through exercises in class.  It's a great way to identify common misconceptions and address them in a timely fashion.  If you would like to incorporate these or other learning activities in your classroom, I'd be happy to meet with you and talk about ways in which CSSEI can help. -- Paul Carter
