Alain Fournier Ph.D Thesis Award

Gordon Wetzstein, one of our Ph.D students who graduated last November, has won the Alain Fournier Ph.D Thesis Award for the best dissertation in graphics from a Canadian university. Gordon did his Ph.D under the supervision of Wofgang Heidrich and he is now a postdoc at MIT Media Lab.

For the 3rd year in a row, one of our alumni has won the Alain Fournier Ph.D thesis award.   It is also the 4th time overall that a UBC graduate has won this award in the 7 years it has existed.
