“What is that sh** man? Is that even music?” is the question I get asked when I enthusiastically try to share my new find of a band or a song to my friends. Yes, I am a huge fan of heavy metal music and pretty much have forgotten about any other type music, because I didn’t know what music was until I was introduced to heavy guitar riffs and blast-beat drumming few years ago. In this presentation I will briefly highlight the origin of heavy metal, then go through some of the highly unclear types (genres) of metal music. Speak about some of the famous bands in those genres. I will also talk of the types of instruments that come into play. And most importantly, what makes metal so HEAVY.
