Abstract
Tonight, on a very special UDLS, we’ll be welcoming the new grads to our Friday afternoon traditions by talking about our academic peers who begin life as we did but ended up taking a very different route. Many smart and keen people start grad school, but the attrition rates in grad programs are high enough that it’s clear not everyone who decides to leave school did so because they couldn’t hack it. We’ll talk today about a few people who have gone on to be wildly successful after leaving grad school, overfit a model to this data, and maybe, just maybe, learn their secrets of success in the process.
