Avalanche Safety: on playing hard and reducing risk in the backcountry

Statistically, people who know something about avalanche danger are more likely to be killed in an avalanche than those who don’t. You therefore attend this talk at your own peril. We will see how to identify avalanche terrain, how to read bulletins, what to do if you are caught in an avalanche, and how to rescue a buried companion. There will naturally be some video clips of people getting into bad situations.
