Abstract
The Canadian Forces are the armed forces of Her Majesty raised by Canada and consist of one Service called the Canadian Armed Forces. Established under the National Defence Act in 1922 as separate services known as the Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Navy, and the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Canadian Forces was reorganized as a single organization in 1968. I’ll give some background about the history of the separate services that joined together to form the Canadian Forces and an overview of the state of the Canadian Forces today. Some highlights include the Irish attempting to hold Canada hostage, a short-lived Air Force of one aircraft called the CAC, and a bobble-head Stephen Harper.
