Animals of the Austin Animal Centre

After establishing a no-kill implementation plan in 2010, Austin is the largest "no kill" community in the US. The current save rate at the Austin Animal Centre is 97%.

The Austin Animal Centre works with many rescue partners who help rehome and care for about 34% of shelter residents. Adoption is still the backbone of any community's animal support strategy, and is one of the best outcomes possible for shelter residents. This app was created as an aid for shelter managers to identify trends in their animals' outcomes. Using this tool, they can identify and give under-adopted groups a helping hand with targeted media campaigns or create specific rehoming partnerships.

This app uses data on Austin Animal Shelter, from October 2013 to December 2019.
