Dataspaces
For today's class, we will be reading two papers:
- Alon Halevy, Michael Franklin, and David Maier: Principles
of dataspace
systems. PODS
2006: 1-9. We
are reading this paper
because it introduces the notion of dataspaces - a way to combine data
from multiple sources without requiring the full semantic
integration of data integration
- Xin (Luna) Dong and Alon Halevy: Indexing
dataspaces. SIGMOD 2007: 43-54. This paper
shows how to concretely work on answering queries in data spaces
These papers require no special reading strategies.
