You are required to attend all scheduled lectures and exams for the course (tutorials are optional). If you miss a lecture, review any posted material and find out from other students what was covered. You are responsible for all material covered in lectures, tutorials, homework assignments, and assigned reading. If you miss a midterm exam, provide the instructor with documentation (i.e., an official UBC note) proving a valid excuse. In such exceptional cases the missed midterm exam will not count towards your final grade. Instead more weight will be put on your final exam grade. Unfortunately, because course material and exams are cumulative, you may find that later exams are more difficult than earlier ones. If you miss the final exam, you must follow the procedures defined in the Academic Concession Policy. If you miss a homework, but have a good excuse (see me in person), your homework grade will be computed excluding the missed homework.
