Title: Medical Informatics: Improving Speech Recognition in Radiology

Abstract:

Automatic speech recognition (ASR) in radiology dictation has the potential to revolutionize the field, and in many ways has already begun to do so. However, low accuracy rates coupled with high risk factors are preventing ASR's widespread success. This talk presents a methodology for error detection that would greatly improve the state of ASR in radiology, leading to faster turnaround times, reduced costs, and, ultimately, greater patient safety.
