California - sun, beaches, fun etc. ... and sometimes work :)
Thanks to Anne, I participated to a great summer school at Caltech, Pasadena CA, in the period June 17 - July 17, 2002. The school was called Computing Beyond Silicon Summer School, great professors taught here, see CBSSS web page for more details of the program. In addition, Caltech has a very nice campus, nice people, a lot of sunshine and fun.
CBSSS organized a trip to Santa Monica on June 22, see pictures.
About 1% of the students at Caltech are Romanians, see the Association of Romanians at Caltech! On June 29, I went to Malibu with some of them, see pictures.
The weekend July 4 - July 7 was also very nice, thanks to Frank and Max, who drove here from San Francisco. Here are some pictures that we took with Frank's digital camera. I also put the pictures that I took with my non-digital camera.
Some pictures from the Caltech campus and undergraduate houses at Caltech.
On July 16, Maria organized a visit to Jet Propulsion Laboratory of NASA. See pictures.
July 16 was also our last day at Caltech (most of the non-Caltech students left the next day). Of course, we took pictures.
Mike took very nice pictures with the nature of California.
