  • The pure-talk time is restricted to 15 minutes, giving us at least 10 minutes for discussing your work. If the talk is longer than 15 minutes, the talk will be stopped. If you doing sth. more interactive going forth and back between discussion and presentation, you get the entire 20 minutes for this of course...

CHI Title/Abstract review session tips

Here is an efficient process which generated great feedback in 10min/paper:

1) assign a time keeper who gives a 1-min warning

2) start with abstract, then go on to the title in last 1-2 minutes once we understand what the paper’s about

3) focus discussion on items such as:

  • Comprehensibility
  • Relevance to CHI
  • Clear contribution (type)
  • Do you want to read this paper?
  • Reviewer selection

Master thesis presentation

If you want to present/defend your Master thesis in a MUX meeting you can do that and will get an entire slot (i.e. 50 minutes) for that, split in 30 min talk and 20 min discussion. Keep in mind that if the talk is longer than 30 minutes, the talk will be stopped!
