  • build on success of Stanford online teaching model
  • leverage CWSEI, Paul Carter's work, Cristina on User modeling, LCI on AI for marking, Imager for new media tools
  • recruit Salman Khan (though he himself is not academic enough to be chairholder)
  • also look at Open University in the UK
