Campus/Vancouver life

UBC occupies 1000 acres at the western tip of Vancouver, overlooking the Strait of Georgia (map). The campus is situated on the University Endowment Lands, which include substantial areas of wilderness, and is adjacent to extensive public beaches. Serviced frequently by public transportation, the campus is just a half-an-hour bus trip from downtown Vancouver.

Vancouver is a fabulous place to live, and for the past five years has been rated the world's most livable city in a survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit. There are literally hundreds of things that make Vancouver special. You can walk around the seawall, shop on Robson Street, enjoy affordable fine dining, kayak or sail in the harbour, visit Stanley Park, hike or ski in the local mountains, rock climb, watch a Canucks game, relax with friends at any of the numerous city beaches, and much, much more!

Part of your student fees go toward the U-Pass program, aimed at helping students navigate Vancouver at a reasonable price, both to their own pockets and to the environment.
