Computer Science professor and Canada 150 Research Chair Margo Seltzer receives USENIX Lifetime Achievement Award

UBC Computer Science Professor and Canada 150 Research Chair Margo Seltzer is the recipient of the USENIX Lifetime Achievement Award ("The Flame").  The award recognizes Professor Seltzer's research in experimental file and storage systems, her development of new storage paradigms, and her dedication to and steering of the USENIX community.  Other than doing great work in many areas of computer systems, especially in file and storage systems and databases, Professor Seltzer is also a visionary leader who led USENIX through several major transitions with unflagging dedication.  More importantly, she is instrumental in making the USENIX community more inclusive—to women, minorities, in the last few decades.
