UBC-authored Papers Win 2 of the 3 Best Papers Awards at SCA 2015 Conference

UBC-authored papers won 2 of the 3 best papers awards at the recent SCA 2015 conference -- Symposium on Computer Animation, held in Los Angeles, Aug 7-9, 2015.

The Symposium on Computer Animation (SCA) is the premier forum for innovations in the software and technology of computer animation. The event unites researchers and practitioners working on all aspects of time-based phenomena.

The best papers and titles are list below. 

Benjamin Humberston, Dinesh Pai:

Hands On: Interactive Animation of Precision Manipulation and Contact

Kai Ding, Libin Liu, Michiel van de Panne, KangKang Yin:

Learning Reduced-Order Feedback Policies for Motion Skills

All authors are members of UBC Department of Computer Science, with the exception of KangKang Yin, who is a UBC Computer Science alumna, and is currently a faculty member at National University of Singapore.

In addition, the poster "Eulerian-on-Lagrangian cloth" by Kyle Piddington, David I. W. Levin, Dinesh K. Pai, and Shinjiro Sueda received the best poster award. Levin and Sueda are UBC alumni, who worked with Prof. Pai at UBC.
