ABOUT

I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science, University of British Columbia (UBC), working with Dr. Tamara Munzner in the InfoVis group. Prior to UBC, I received my Bachelor's degree from the Department of Computer Science, EECS, Peking University (PKU). I worked as a research assistant in the Visualization and Visual Computing Lab during my undergraduate study in PKU. Here is my academic [CV].

RESEARCH INTERESTS

In general, I have broad interests in information visualization. I am currently working on visual comparison of trees with biologists, and I might keep exploring the biovis world for a while, but as I am still in the early age of my research career, I am also interested other topics such as vis application in other domains, visualization authoring tools for designers or programmers, visualization techniques for big data.

SELECTED PROJECTS

  • Multi-scale Visual Comparison of Phylogenetic Tree Collection (in progress work with phylogenetics experts from the Biodiversity Research Center, UBC). We are helping researchers to decipher the hidden congruences and incongruences among hundreds of phylogenetic trees with interactive visualization.

PUBLICATION AND POSTERS
