Collected Teaching Resources
These are notes I've put together over time, generally for some class
or event, that might be of interest to instructors. Enjoy!
- Notes
from the UW College of Engineering TA Panel at the 2002 TA
orientation. These focus on resources for teaching, high-level advice,
and balancing TAing and research. Somewhat engineering-oriented.
- "Openers":
things I've done at the start of class and some notes on whether they
worked (and why). Very CS-oriented.
- Answering
student questions notes based on a CSE590IT session brilliantly
put together by Tammy VanDeGrift. The notes on how to answer questions
are good.. the exercise Tammy had us do is even better. Mostly
topic-neutral even in the few cases that an example question/answer is
CS-specific.
