Abstract
Following the success of CS Iron Chef, I will be talking about Captain Cook - a man perhaps less known for his culinary prowess than for bravely exploring the world’s largest ocean in the 18th century. Sailing from the arctic to the antarctic and from New Zealand to Alaska on a converted coal freighter, his voyages covered a third of the planet and first introduced Europe to the lands and cultures of the Pacific.
