Abstract
Machiavelli wrote more than just “The Prince”! Where “The Prince” was Machiavelli’s book of advice for monarchs, “Discourses Upon Livy” is Machiavelli’s advice to republics. It is structured as a swarm of tiny chapters that discuss events in Livy’s History of Rome. I thought it might be fun to pick a few anecdotes and talk about them.
