Abstract
Video-games are on the verge of becoming the new media pariah. Many violent or anti-social incidents involving teenagers or young adults are reportedly connected to an increase in consumption of violent video games. In this talk I will review the history of the violence in gaming controversy and briefly explore two oft referenced research papers on the topic in an attempt to reach some consensus on the role violence in games plays in human behaviour.
