This applet shows a TIN terrain model in Java.
Choose a model from the menu, then click and drag the mouse to rotate and scale the terrain.
Note that as models are reconstructed, they are rendered until one takes more than 1/10th of a second to draw. (Usually between 50 and 800 triangles, depending on the machine.) This model is copied and used for mouse interation, while the big model continues to be refined.
The terrain is currently pseudocolored by elevation with a very small color pallet, to support display on small machines. Even so, on some machines the larger terrains will bring Netscape or other web browsers to their knees.
