The page http://www.gnu.org/licenses/why-not-lgpl.htm argues that one should use the ordinary GNU GPL, which prevents commercial exploitation. However, I have chosen to use the lesser GNU GPL, which allows commercial exploitation. Since I am a big Matlab fan, it would be hypocritical of me to try to hinder the development of commercial software. However, I am also deeply appreciative of such excellent free software as Latex, Emacs, R, etc.
