I'm a postdoctoral fellow of Computer Science Department at UBC. I am currently working with Joanna McGrenere involved with HCI research (MUX) and joined the Steering Commitee for HCI@UBC. I have recieved my Ph.D. in the School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University, advised by Ji Soo Yi at the HIVE Lab. I recieved a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Ewha Womans University in 2006 and M.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Ewha Womans University in 2008.

My research applies Human-Computer Interaction and Data Visualization techniques to design interfaces that help individuals with data-driven decision-making. I am also interested in developing evaluation methods to test the effectiveness of interfaces and understand how visual representations aid human cognition. Currently, I am working on projects related to the healthcare domain.

I am experienced in different types of evaluation methods such as controlled-lab environment with an eye-tracking device, qualitative user studies through think-aloud protocol and interviews, large-scale crowdsourcing-based user studies, and I also develop methodological approaches to manage data quality.
