4 Operators
As in programming languages, operators exist to perform arithmetic operations
(e.g., + and *) and logical operations (e.g., AND and NOT). What follows
in this section is a list of rules that are specific to Oracle.
-
Don't use double negative signs, since they indicate a comment.
-
|| is the string concatenation binary operator.
-
Comparison operators like =, !=, <> (same as !=), >, <, >=,
and <= exist. Other comparison operators exist like IN, NOT IN, ANY,
SOME, ALL, [NOT] BETWEEN x AND y, EXISTS, x [NOT] LIKE y, and IS [NOT]
NULL.
-
Logical operators include NOT, AND, and OR.
-
Set operators like UNION (all distinct rows selected by both queries),
UNION ALL (all rows selected by either query including all duplicates),
INTERSECT (all distinct rows selected by both queries), and MINUS (all
distinct rows selected by the first query but not the second).
