Rasam Preparation (by Divakar Aunty) -------------------- Ingredients ---------- 1 small cup Tuar dal 1 tomato MTR Rasam Powder 1/2 Lemon 1 Tamarind or 1tbsp. tamarind paste haldi, ghee, salt, chhota neem, coriander leaves, mustard seeds, heeng. Procedure ----------- * A handful of Tuar Dal + 1 tomato + little bit Haldi and Ghee. (don't cut the tomato) * Put all this in the pressure cooker with water (3 times of Dal) * Cook for three whistle of pressure cooker. * Take out the tomato. * Put the cooked dal + rasam powder (5 tbsp.) + salt + chhota neem in a bowl and cook for 5 to 10 min. Add water if necessary. * Squeeze the Tomato and put the juice in the bowl too. * Add half lemon + Tamarind * Heat (very little) Ghee + Mustard + heeng with oil in a separate small bowl, and add in the dal bowl. (This is called Tadka) * Boil it for sometime. * Add coriander leaves, if want to. Eat and die.
