CPSC 322 - Lecture 8

When Bad Choices Happen To Good Interpreters

I. More crude animations

Today we used my same old crude PowerPoint animations to review how
the top-down proof procedure deals with recursion. We then explored
a couple of recursive examples in the domains of house wiring and
searching a maze. I'll make the knowledge bases for those examples
available online. Next we used a crude animation to see what
happens when the interpreter chooses the wrong clause from the
knowledge base.

Again, mere text won't do the animations justice (?), so click
through the PowerPoint slides and watch how it all works.
