Instructions for "Using Video - Part II" class

Pre-class group assignment:

Decide how your group will use video recording in your course project.

Using either the ICICS Usability Lab (X625 and X627) or your own space, draw several diagrams of your experimental set up including any prototype interfaces, computers, etc, placement of participants, observers and video equipment.

Review the Imager Lab video equipment lists (need a UBC computer science id) and create a list of all equipment (including specialized cables or connectors) that you will need. Include in your list blank video tapes and computers or other materials you will use. Break this list into four parts:

1. Equipment to be reserved and borrowed from Imager

2. Facilities to be reserved from ICICS
3. Equipment/Facilities to be supplied by group members.
4. Equipment/Facilities that you have not yet acquired or do not have access to.

Provide dates of usage for all of these items.

Part 1 of your list will be submitted to Juliet O'Keefe (jokeefe@cs.ubc.ca), the Imager lab administrator. You must identify yourself as a CPSC 544 student to Juliet O'Keefe.

Part 2 of your list will be submitted to Ron Fussell (fussell@cs.ubc.ca), the Imager lab manager. See the instructions and availability at http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~fussell/sched/ so you know how to submit a request to Ron Fussell.

Both Juliet O'Keefe and Ron Fusell can be found in X635.

Reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
