I love volunteering and working as an organizer. Here is a small list of organizations and groups I am currently working with.
I have been volunteering for GIRLSmarts for the last two years. This is a one day computer science workshop for grade 6 girls organised by Computer Science Department of UBC. This fall I am going help organize this workshop.
I am the Secretary of Bangladesh Students Association(BSA) at UBC. As part of this organization we try to give the bangladeshi student at UBC a little feeling of home by organizing cultural and social events. You can join us in facebook here
Recently one of our fellow bangladeshi student, Rumana Monzur, became a victim of domestic violence and was blinded. We created a support group for her on facebook. You can join us here. UBC community has been fabulous in supporting her and accepting donation for her untill November 30,2011. The donation link is here.
