Video Transfer between VHS and LVR

VHS --> LVR

In order to do this it is necessary to use the MX-1 video mixer (MX-1), which usually lives in imager light.

What's required is:

The setup is as follows:

    *Start with MX-1 off*

  1. VHS line out (on the back of the unit) --> input 1 of the video mixer.
  2. MX-1 output (S-VHS if possible) --> video in on Vid/IO box.
  3. RGB output on Vid/IO box --> RGB input on LVR.
  4. Connect preview out (on MX-1) --> video input for the old monitor.
  5. Turn on LVR and VHS (if they are not already on), then turn on the MX-1.
  6. Press Shift + Setup on MX-1.
    You will see a set of five icons, the important one is the lock.
  7. Using the diamond in the middle of the keypad, move to the lock. Press either the up or down arrow to toggle TBC off (value should read 1).
  8. Press Shift + Setup on MX-1 again to return to the main screen.
Now you a ready to begin copying the video.

An alternate method that works is running the video through Lucille. This is NOT recommended.

LVR -->VHS

This should be quite straight forward.
  1. Take the RGB outs of the LVR and patch them into the Vid/IO box
  2. Take the SVHS out of the Vid/IO box and patch that into the VHS line 2 input on the front of the VCR (behind the flip down panel.)
  3. Change the input of the VHS deck to input 2. The button is in the top row of the left most set of buttons, on the flip down panel.
and that's it!

Note: The correct input should be chosen for the VHS deck to record properly, otherwise nothing will be recorded. The input selection button is on the flip down panel on the front of the unit. It is labeled: INPUT SELECT, and is in the top row of buttons.
