The CLOZE Passages
CLOZE passages follow about one-third of the Journal chapters. These partial summaries encourage children to read the Journal carefully. A variety of skills are exercised using CLOZE puzzles: sentence meaning and grammar, vocabulary, and spelling. Successful completion of CLOZE puzzle may earn the player other pieces of the Phoenix Quest story.
