Monte-Carlo Inference for Population Pharmaco(kinetics|dynamics)
By Julien Cornebise (paper co-authors

What does the body do to the drugs, and what do the drugs do to the body ? These
are the exciting questions asked by pharmacokinetics (PK)
and pharmacodynamics (PD), and finding the answers is a giant playfield for
computational statistics.
After an introduction to typical PKPD challenges, emphasizing the most recent
models using stochastic differential equations, I will outline
how we endeavor to tackle them using simulation-based Bayesian inference,
especially Particle Markov Chain Monte Carlo (PMCMC)
algorithms. Few prerequisites assumed: introductory talk to share the fun of
those applications and introduce PMCMC to newcomers in the lab!
