CPSC 445 - Final Examinations

About the exam:

• If the time slot assigned to you conflicts with another exam, please contact Holger via e-mail by Fri, 3 Dec.
• Please make sure you arrive at the examination room at least 10 minutes before the start of your allocated time slot.
• Please bring your student ID, like you would for a written exam.
• Each examination will last about 15min, with an additional 5 minutes during which the examining committee (Holger, Patrice/Anne, and one of the TAs) will determine the mark (while the student is waiting outside the room).
• If you wish, you may bring one other person with you into the examination room (except other 445 students); this person is not permitted to communicate with you during the examination or interfere in any other way with the examination.
• The examination will consist of a dialogue between the student and the examiner(s), based on a sequence of questions on the course material of CPSC 445; the focus will be on material covered in the assignments. You will not be required to perform lenghty calculations or literally recall algorithm outlines.
• During the examination, no materials (notes, books, papers, etc.) may be consulted.
• To ensure the academic integrity of the examinations, students are not permitted to communicate their exam questions or answers to other 445 students until all students have finished their examinations.
• Don't be afraid of the examination! Oral exams are a lot more flexible than written exams, and we intend to use this flexibility solely for the benefit of the student.
