Inspired by PCR discussion we had last week I've decided to talk about most common molecular biology techniques: DNA extraction and purification, restriction digestion, Southern, Northern and Western blots (no, there is no Eastern blot), sequencing, cloning (you won't be able to clone yourself after this ;-) ), PCR, ... Since most of the data we are working with has been obtained by applying some of these techniques I think it is important to get some basic understanding of how they work.
