Abstract Comparative Sequence Analysis: Predicting Consensus RNA Secondary Structure

Comparative sequence analysis is a method which uses a related set of aligned sequences to identify regions where possible compensatory mutations occur. Using these regions of interest, we identify a list of potential stems and predict a consensus secondary structure.

I will be giving a brief overview of comparative sequence analysis and my approach in analyzing several 16S rRNA data set. I will be discussing some of my results and possible improvements to my current approach.
